Your new role as automation department manager

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will supervise a team of 2 to 3 people. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the optimal completion of various industrial automation projects at every stage: project and personnel management, design, programming, commissioning, and after-sales service.

Your day-to-day:

  • You ensure that our customers are always at the forefront of new technologies in automation and control;
  • Understand customer needs, design the system, select the required materials;
  • Plan and execute sales projects to meet customer needs;
  • Provide technical support to the automation department team;
  • Ensure that project specifications are met (quality, delivery dates, budgets, etc.);
  • Participate in the transfer of information to engineering for project implementation;
  • Design, detail engineer and ensure that project components meet specifications or objectives;
  • Design projects or products or coordinate related activities;
  • PLC, HMI and Scada programming (AB, Schneider, Omron, Siemens or others);
  • Participate in upgrade and troubleshooting work;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the required instrumentation and wiring;
  • Research suppliers, prices, substitutes and delivery times to optimize projects;
  • Ensure the production of manuals and documents relating to project implementation and management;
  • Follow ISO procedures and standards.

Profile researched:

  • Electrical or industrial automation bachelors
  • Significant experience in the design and implementation of industrial automation and control projects
  • Experience in team management
  • Knowledge of PLC, HMI and Scada programming
  • Knowledge of industrial robot programming (asset)
  • Availability to travel to customer sites in Quebec
  • Advanced computer skills (programming software from major manufacturers, industrial communication protocols and network architecture, Microsoft Office software, etc.);
  • Functional English.
